World Boxing Council No. 1-ranked super lightweight Devon Alexander “The Great” will fight for the vacant WBC super lightweight championship against the former holder of that belt, Junior “The Hitter” Witter, in a tremendous co-feature on Saturday, Aug. 1 at The Show at Agua Caliente - Casino - Resort - Spa in Rancho Mirage, California. In an interesting twist, Witter lost this title on May 10, 2008, to undefeated Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley (24-0, 11 KOs), who will defend his World Boxing Organization 140-pound crown against former unified lightweight world champion Nate “Galaxxy Warrior” Campbell (33-5-1, 25 KOs) in the main event on this card. In a world title unification, Bradley defeated Kendall Holt on April 4 to capture the WBO belt. Less than a month later, Bradley chose to voluntarily relinquish the WBC strap that Alexander and Witter will be vying for.

“I just found out a few days ago that I’ll be in my first world championship match against Junior Witter on Aug. 1,” Alexander said. “I am so thrilled to be fighting for a world title and against Witter, a fighter I respect. He’s already had the title we’re fighting for, and I feel like it’s my turn now. I’m not stopping my undefeated run for anyone. I’ll never have a chance at the biggest fights in the world against Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao unless I win this.”

Classy boxer-puncher Delvin Rodriguez has been seeking a breakthrough type of fight for some time, and he has had to travel to South Africa for his opportunity.

Rodriguez, the 28-year-old from Connecticut, meets Isaac Hlatswayo in an IBF welterweight title elimination match at the Emperors Palace casino hotel in Kempton Park on Monday — a championship chance against Joshua Clottey awaits the winner.

Hlatswayo, 31, is the slight favourite based on the fight’s location. Rodriguez has some advantages, though. He is younger and taller — and he’s also a 147-pounder meeting a boxer who was fighting at 140 pounds just a couple of years ago. In addition to this, Rodriguez clearly seems to be the puncher in the fight.

A slight concern is that Rodriguez’s last fight saw his opponent, Oscar Diaz, collapse afterwards and undergo brain surgery. It put a sad postscript on what had been a superb performance by Rodriguez, and one must wonder if the fight will have any effect on the way he performs against Hlatswayo. When something such as this happens, a fighter can usually come to terms with the situation by knowing that what happened was just an accident, but you never know. Fighters react to these things in different ways.

Urbano Antillon, a native of Mexico who fights out of Maywood, is deep into training for his WBA interim lightweight title challenge against Top-10 contender Miguel “Aguacerito” Acosta.

The Antillon-Acosta world title fight is one of four main event bouts headlining “Latin Fury 10” – the world championship extravaganza.“Latin Fury 10,” which takes place Saturday, July 25, will also feature undefeated Top-Five super welterweight contender and son of the legend, Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr., of Mexico, in a 10-round super welterweight rumble with Jason “The Hammer” Lehoullier, from Portland, ME; WBA light flyweight champion Giovani Segura, of Mexico, defending his title against Filipino fireball Sonny Boy Jaro; and WBO Latino junior bantamweight champion Alberto Rosas, of Mexico, battling Alejandro Martinez, of Costa Rica, in a 12-round title bout.

Latin Fury 10 will be broadcast Live on Pay-Per-View, from Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico, on Saturday, July 25, beginning at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.

This July 25 an exciting WBA light flyweight match between Giovanni Segura and Sonny Boy Jaro will take place at Yucatan, Mexico. This will be Jaro's 2nd attempt to become a world champion after losing with a unanimous decision from Edgar Sosa.

I'm still searching for a site that would allow us to watch this fight on live streaming but this match can also be seen on HBO PPV.

WBC bantamweight title: Hozumi Hasegawa vs. Nestor Rocha will be held at the World Memorial Hall, Kobe, Japan this July 14th.

Japanese southpaw Hozumi Hasegawa successfuly retained his throne for the sixth time as he impressively defeated Uruguayan challenger Cristian Faccio last June. Will he be able to do it for the seventh time? I think the time span from his last match up to the 14th is too short to recover and prepare for this comming match. I'll just Watch Hozumi Hasegawa vs. Nestor Rocha live streaming if I can find any.

In the main event scheduled for 12 rounds, IBF featherweight world champion “Lacondon” Cristobal Cruz, 38-11-1 with 23 knockouts, now based in Tijuana , Mexico , will make his second defense of the title against Jorge “Coloradito” Solis, 37-1-2 with 27 knockouts, of Guadalajara , Mexico.

This fight is the rematch – in December, 2003, Solis won a 10 round unanimous decision against Cruz. Cruz fought aggressively and constantly pressured Solis, but Solis boxed effectively – he kept Cristobal off-balance with movement, scored with sharp counter punches, and won by decisive scores of 97-93, 98-92, 99-91.

This will be held on July 11, 2009 at Mexico, Chipas, Palenque de Gallos.

Shane Mosley said he wants to fight Manny Pacquiao so whoever wins will get to face the winner of the Floyd Mayweather-Juan Manuel Marquez showdown which was recently postponed and tentatively rescheduled to September.

“Yeah, that is the perfect scenario. That’s the way it is supposed to happen in real boxing,” Mosley, the 38-year-old WBA welterweight champion from California, told fighthype.com as he continued to beg for a fight with Pacquiao.

Mosley has practically swallowed everything in seeking the fight with Pacquiao, announcing that he’s agreeable to a catchweight under 147 lb (the welterweight limit), put his belt on the line, and settle for 40 percent of the earnings.

IBF middle weight title will be fought between Arthur Abraham and Mahir Oral. This will be a home court advantage for the German boxer, Arthur. Inspite of the advantage, pressure will also be felt because lots of fans will be dissapointed if the title will be snached from him in his own place.

This exciting match is scheduled on June 27, and hoping that I would be able to watch it live on cable tv or someone generous enough that will treat me an airfair going to Berlin.
